Inter Pensioner
InterPensioner brings emergency help, reminders, and family communication together in one service. The key scenarios live on a single screen, so it stays easy to use even for people with little experience with technology.

History of the project
InterPensioner grew out of a simple need: older people often live on their own, and their families want the reassurance that everything is fine - medication is taken, nothing important is forgotten, and help can be summoned quickly in an emergency. Yet many apps built for this audience are cluttered and hard to use. We brought safety, reminders, and staying in touch with loved ones into one app and built it around a "senior-guardian" model: the user stays independent, while relatives help with settings and receive important alerts. The voice assistant "Sonya" lowers the barrier to entry - she guides, teaches, and simplifies everyday use.

Customer's pain
Families need a clear way to support an older relative from a distance: to react quickly in an emergency and to see whether daily routines are slipping (medication, tasks). In practice, the available tools are scattered, and their interfaces are often too complex for older users - so these services end up either unused or used only now and then.
Solution
We built the product around two scenarios: emergency assistance and everyday support. SOS sits on the home screen as a single flow with confirmation, notifications, and location/voice sharing. The "senior-guardian" role pairing lets relatives set up reminders and receive key alerts, while the voice assistant "Sonya" helps users settle in without hunting through menus.
The process of working on a project
-
Business analysis
Defined the "senior / guardian / administrator" roles, the key scenarios, and the scope of the MVP. Locked down the access and data requirements for SOS and notifications.
-
Design
Simplified the navigation: large elements, high contrast, and a minimum of steps. Onboarding runs through "Sonya", and SOS includes confirmation and cancellation to prevent accidental taps.
-
Development
Built the iOS and Android apps plus the backend for events and data. Connected notifications, chat/voice, and payments while keeping the critical functions stable.
-
Testing
Tested sign-in, subscriptions, SOS, and push/SMS delivery. We paid separate attention to role separation and to how clear the scenarios were for users aged 55+.
-
App launch in the stores
Prepared the release builds and permissions (location, notifications, microphone). Added the legal screens and met the stores' requirements.
Difficulties faced by the team
-
SOS without errors
Confirmation and cancellation guard against accidental taps. Notifications and events are processed on the server so everything runs reliably.
-
Simplicity
We split features by role and trimmed the navigation, keeping the critical actions on the home screen.
-
Subscription
Payment events can arrive more than once, so we added a server-side status check and protection against reprocessing.
-
Assistant
To keep Sonya responsive, we optimized request handling and split the logic between the app and the server.
Application functionality
InterPensioner combines safety, daily reminders, and staying in touch with loved ones in one simple app.

Built-in onboarding
Onboarding is built right into the app - no instructions or long manuals. The voice assistant "Sonya" points out where each feature lives, explains steps in plain language, and helps users get comfortable as they go. Hints can be skipped at any time or reopened later, exactly when they are needed.

SOS alarm button
SOS is the app's central scenario and the fastest way to call for help. The button sits on the home screen: a single tap triggers a chain of notifications to loved ones and emergency contacts. Users can add a voice message, while confirmation and the option to cancel guard against accidental taps - without slowing the response down.

Leisure and health
Curated activities for every day: from exercise and hobbies to lessons and virtual walks. Everything is organized into categories and opens in a tap or two, making it easy to pick an activity and stay engaged.

Subscription
Advanced features are available by subscription, with clear management and status tracking. Users can always see whether their subscription is active and when it renews, and important changes are confirmed by notifications. On the server, a status check prevents errors caused by duplicate payment notifications.

Guardian profile
The guardian profile is a hub for managing care remotely. From here you can add a person to look after, set up reminders and emergency contacts, and quickly jump to their location and important events. Every action is role-based and available only with the user's consent, keeping a balance between support and personal boundaries.

A professional team that is pleasant to work with. They competently solve problems and are focused on results.

Result
We launched the "InterPensioner" MVP for iOS and Android, bringing two scenarios together in one product: everyday support and emergency assistance. We implemented a "senior-guardian" model with clearly separated roles, plus a web admin panel for managing the service. The core features - SOS, reminders, chat, leisure, and the assistant - work as one system, without an overloaded interface for older users.
